Ghana: Asantehene Gold from the Palace of the Kofi Karikari
The Asante gold was looted by British forces during a raid in 1874. Queen Victoria's forces looted and blew up the palace of the Asantehene Kofi Karikari, and demanded 50,000 ounces of gold. What they seized is now in the UK.
